A Filipina's journal in gardening and anything about plants, environment and nature in general

At this time the weeds are now quite distinguishable. Here, my tulips have lots of different kinds of weeds embedded in between them. One even had tendrils as if choking the tulips! I really needed to pull them out.
Manang is a Filipina transplanted from Metro Manila, Philippines to rural Maine. This blog mainly features observation around my surroundings which is so different from where I grew up in. While Metro Manila was a very congested and heavily polluted area, Maine is a refreshing and welcome change! Trees dominate the sceneries, most animals freely roam and are respected -- squirrels, skunks, deer, moose, etc. Here I get to see bees and birds and flowers, inhale the clean air, drink clean water from our well...And the people in our small community are very polite. This state is a wonderful place to live in and an ideal place to raise our children.
