A Filipina's journal in gardening and anything about plants, environment and nature in general

This is now my vegetable garden, the morning just after the first (and hard) frost hit us. The field is still covered with a sheet of ice crystals. Temperature went down to 20 deg F that night.
Manang is a Filipina transplanted from Metro Manila, Philippines to rural Maine. This blog mainly features observation around my surroundings which is so different from where I grew up in. While Metro Manila was a very congested and heavily polluted area, Maine is a refreshing and welcome change! Trees dominate the sceneries, most animals freely roam and are respected -- squirrels, skunks, deer, moose, etc. Here I get to see bees and birds and flowers, inhale the clean air, drink clean water from our well...And the people in our small community are very polite. This state is a wonderful place to live in and an ideal place to raise our children.
